International Conference Workshop on Optimization
Dynamics and Convex Analysis – WODCA2025 held from June 11 to 14, 2025, in Portugal (Aveiro), organized by  Department of Mathematics of the University of Aveiro and  Center for Research & Development in Mathematics and Applications (CIDMA, University of Aveiro). WODCA2025 was organized on the occasion of Aleksandr Plakhov's 65th birthday, celebrating his outstanding contributions to mathematics, including billiards, optimal control and the calculus of variations, optimization, convex analysis, dynamical systems, and applications of mathematics in mechanics

WODCA2025 began with an opening ceremony in the ceremonial hall A (Auditorium José Grácio) Mechanical Engineering building in Aveiro. It is worth noting that Aveiro — the "Portuguese Venice" — is a city on the western coast of Portugal, well known for its University and its school of Optimal Control and the Calculus of Variations.

All four days of the Conference were filled with activities, including 18 invited talks, 6 poster presentations, and 42 contributed talks.

This year’s WODCA2025 conference gathered nearly 80 participants from 22 countries around the world. We are proud to highlight that one mathematician from Serbia took part in WODCA2025 — Assistant Professor Dr. Aleksandar Jović from the Department of Numerical Mathematics and Optimization at the Faculty of Mathematics, who delivered a talk titled “Duality in Continuous-Time Optimization Problems“.

During the conference, our colleague attended expert lectures and actively participated in discussions. Notably, this occasion marked the beginning of collaboration with colleagues from universities in Spain and India, aiming to develop joint research projects and promote the exchange of teaching and research staff.

The conference concluded with a closing ceremony, featuring congratulations and words of encouragement for the organizers of the next conference in these fields.
