We are pleased to announce that our teaching assistant Jelena Tasi\u0107 successfully defended her doctoral dissertation entitled \u201cMathematical Models and Optimization Methods for Solving Variants of the p-Next Center Problem\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The supervisor of the dissertation was prof. dr Zorica Dra\u017ei\u0107<\/a>, and the examination committee consisted of Prof. Dr Aleksandar Savi\u0107, prof. dr Zorica Stanimirovi\u0107<\/a> and prof. dr Dragan Uro\u0161evi\u0107<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dissertation deals with the development of mathematical models and metaheuristic optimization methods for solving variants of the p-next center location problem, which have applications in the planning of logistics, supply networks and emergency response systems. As part of the research, new models and algorithms were developed, and their efficiency was confirmed on standard benchmark instances from the literature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this achievement, Jelena Tasi\u0107 has earned the title of Doctor of Mathematical Sciences. The members of the Department extend their sincere congratulations to our colleague Jelena and wish her every success in her future scientific work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
